Ngā Aho is a national network of Māori design professionals who come together to support each other to better service the design aspirations of our Maori communities. Māori Design professional are now represented in the fields of architecture, commercial design, engineering, landscape architecture, business, planning, project and resource management.

"Ngā aho" he aho herenga ki ngā tipuna, ki te ao hou ki te ao tawhito, he kaupapa whakaruruhau mo ngā iwi katoa i raro i te mahi kotahi hei painga mo te katoa. Otira, e whai atu ana I nga mahi hanga whare.

"Ngā aho" ki te whenua, ki te moana, ki te rangi, ki te ao, koinei nga whakamaramatanga mo tenei ingoa mo tenei roopu hou. He kaupapa tuhono atu ki te wairua, te hinengaro, te Tinana, ae ra ki te whanau me te whenua. The objects of Ngā Aho as described in the rules of the Society are:

a. Whakamarama

Object: To raise awareness and increase knowledge, amongst members and their communities of interest, in respect to Maori issues, aspirations, methods, practices and knowledge in the Society's fields of interest.

 

b. Whakawhanaungatanga

Object: To foster the development of productive relationships and networks between members and between members and their communities of interest.

 

c. Mahi Tahi

Object: To foster and facilitate collaboration between members and between members and their communities of interest.

 

d. Whakamana

Object: To increase the Profile and Standing of members and their communities of interest – particularly iwi and hapū.

 

e. Whakahaere Kaupapa 

Object: To do anything necessary or helpful to the above purposes.
